The masterbatch is a plastic colorant formed by good dispersion of a high proportion of pigment, additive, and thermoplastic resin. The selected resin has a wetting and dispersion effect on the colorant and good compatibility with various materials. That is, masterbatch consists of pigment, dye, carrier, and additive. 1. Application of masterbatch in cable processing industry:

 

lMasterbatch such as black plastic colorant masterbatch can be used to apply in local telephone communication cable. To be concrete, a local telephone communication cable is a communication cable made of polyethylene (PE) clad copper wire for telephone and network communication. It has high requirements for dispersion, insulation, and aging resistance of pigments and masterbatch.

 

lMaterbatches can also be used for the application of cross-linked overhead cables. Actually, the main material is polyethylene (PE) as well, which has very high requirements for weather resistance, aging resistance, dispersion, and insulation of pigments masterbatch. This kind of material is mainly black. With the construction of the national and urban power grid, the dosage will increase gradually.

 

lMasterbatches can be used for the application of cable sheath material as well. The main material is the same as above. In addition to the requirements for electrical and physical properties, carbon black with good light-shielding performance is mostly selected because of its high requirements for resisting ultraviolet rays and blocking sunlight. Compared with ordinary pigment, plastic masterbatch such as plastic black color masterbatch has durability and special functionality, which makes it the only choice for most plastic and rubber products such as anti-microbial plastic film.

 

2. Application of color masterbatch in synthetic fiber processing industry:

 

The coloring of synthetic fiber is that synthetic resin and masterbatch are processed into colored fiber and directly used in textile. Compared with the traditional dyeing method, it has the innate advantages of small investment, no pollution, and low dyeing cost.

 

lApplication of polypropylene fiber (PP). The equal specification polypropylene fiber, abbreviated as polypropylene fiber (PP), is one of the most famous synthetic fibers in the world. According to different processing technologies, it can be divided into a long fiber, short fiber, and non-woven fabric. Due to the stretching of silk strips, the single diameter of ultra-fine polypropylene fiber textile is less than 1 μ m. Therefore, the requirements for heat resistance and dispersion of masterbatches such as anti-microbial plastic film and pigment are very high.

 

lApplication in the coloring of polyester spinning (PET). Polyester fiber is also a kind of synthetic fiber. On account of the high processing temperature, there are high requirements for the heat resistance and color purity of each pigment of the masterbatch just like plastic carbon black masterbatch.
